Heh, hey there all the sceptics! Isn't that 400hp mark that the engine reached??

Wayne,

Paaahh. I don't believe a word of it. If you look closely, it looks like a drawing a 2 year old does. You know, the kind that you stick on the fridge for posterity. Admit it Wayne, your'e a fraud, and it's all made up....
Seriously though, i am very impressed. Looks like a nice linear curve, no nasty spikes or troughs in the power curve.
Along this vein though, i have found a company here in the UK who will take the KK unit, and built on a Garrett GT compressor end, water cooler the lot. They reckon the K26/6 series 2 unit is good for 350BHP, with a spool up at 2-2500 rpm, where as the K26/8 is good for 400-450 bhp, but with a later spool up, around the 3500/4000 mark. I'm thinking of going for the smaller of the two initially.
And priice? Same a a complete GT series unit, but obviously, this puppy bolts straight in, no need to modify the manifold or exhaust system.
Seems the future's bright
Congrats Wayne. Always nice to see a doo'er, not a sayer!!
And S60 ECU i presume???

Regards,

Steve

Steve, hopefully you'll see another decent result, and that's my little project. The engine is going in in a week or two and I got my EMS already (VEMS Genboard v3.3 w/ 2x WBo2, 2x EGT, LCD, PS2 keyboard + million other things), though it won't be in before summer I'm afraid.

Weeeeellll ,
Just an april fools deal steve Haa, the car has not made it to the dyno yet , the dyno sheet is from a 951 i did last month . I posted it so you can see what your 951 motor would do with an S60. Basically a stock motor with a turbo upgrade, headstuds , Vitesse turbo.

My k27/26 mods cost 280 pounds , so you might want to have it done on this side of the pond! , I'm expecting a similar power curve but wih max numbers of 350 whp and 300 ft/tq out of the toofah
It will be late may before we hit the dyno ( at my current pace)

Steve,
I would have done a k27/26-8 instead of the 6 as it is a better race combination. forget the early spoolup that is all mag and bar talk on the track you need that mid and top end push. Lag ( or lack thereof) is 40% mapping , with a s60 that boost is going to come on so fast with the small back housing traction will be a major concern ( also back pressure over 1 bar ) i USED WHAT I HAD AS my plans are for temp. usage until my race motor is finished for next season where my intent is a gt32R.

Do not use a water cooled turbo it is not necessary for track usage , it will only be an additional load for your cooling system. Use a big oil cooler (i'm using a full width 911 one ) it will only add complexity and a possible source for water leakage !

Those are certainly good solid numbers for a 951, but... shouldn't those curves be crossing at 5250 not 6250!

ps- did you measure the housing diameters for the k26 and k27? The difference looks _huge_!

THE CURVES CROSS AT 5200 , WHEN PRINTING THE TQ AND HP CURVES WHERE NOT RECALIBRATED TO THE SAME TABLE SO THE HP SIDE IS FOR 500 HP TABLE THE TQ SIDE IS FOR 400 tq TABLE SO THEY DO NOT CROSS AT THE 5200 IN THE PRINTOUT.
