Hey, one 24 is much the same as another right? - Well, fair enough, but I showed up here, started asking questions and got some good answers, least I can do is show my (car's) face...

I believe the colour is 'copenhagen blue' but I've also heard it called 'doom blue'! (apparently due to dealers struggling to shift cars in this colour)

She's been badly repainted by a PO, there's a ding in the rear where I bounced a turbo centre pipe off her last week (grrr) and the bonnet seems to sit lower on the right (looking at her from the front) but I think that's because I'm forever propping it up!

nice car!. Looks real clean. Did you put that rear hatch with spoiler on there?

where is your left side mirror? Did they make them with only one mirror?

looks like you have quite a bit of positive camber on that left front wheel. Is it just out of alignment or is something bent down there?

Cheers, just polished! - the hatch was standard on cars of my year (1985) mine's one of the last of the 2.0 they did. and yes, the non-lux edition was not specced with both mirrors! - Funny that whoever ordered the car had the optional turbo style 15" wheels, but didn't upgrade to two mirrors!

As for the front left, it does look bent doesn't it - probably the alignment combined with it being half on the road & half on the pavement (oops, in the US the pavement is the road isn't it!)

But I'll look out for that!

no, no spacers that I'm aware of - pretty sure the rears are normal, I think that they'd look better with spacers...

my '78 only had the drivers side wing mirror also. the passenger side is indeed optional.
i'd say it was a UK import cos of the window safety markings.

the bonnets are quite heavy and mine drooped with only the bonnet stay. maybe you could upgrade to bonnet struts a'la 944?

Funny you should say that, she already has 944 style bonnet struts, but they're worn out. I have some replacement bonnet struts ready to go on, but its a two man job really, - as my brother found out when he managed to smash his windscreen trying to replace the ones on his 944...

Ta!

No, its been repainted - though not very well. If you look at the top pic, considering its been polished, the surface is like the surface of the moon! - it does look good from a medium distance though!
