I managed to strip out a brand new plastic injector socket while I was installing them , it didnt seat all the way in it maybe up about half a mm and now there is nothing left to grab inside the socket to get it firmly seated or out. Should I take a chance on it and hope its sealed in far enough to use, or should I force removal and get another new one to replace it? If replacement is better how in the world do get that out now that the inside of the plastic socket is stripped?

I take it that you didn't take the time to clean out the threads before you tried to screw the new injector socket in...

Was it the old style (soft, white/clear/yellow) socket, or the newer, harder, orange colored plastic part?

Personally, I would remove the clapped out part since it did not screw all the way in.

You may be able to grab the part of it that sticks up with a pair of pliers, or carefully push the edge in and away from the threads (all the way around to loosen it, or get a better place to grab it with the pliers.

When you get it out, make sure that you use a vacuum to remove all of the broken bits, clean the threads, and use a non-hardening thread sealant when you install the next injector socket.

Everything was clean head was still sealed in plastic wrap. so were the injector sockets. My mistake was the 1st one I put in dry with out telfon on the threads (was thinking of test fitting making sure it was proper before putting on sealer...I know better now.) The other 3 with telfon seal on them went in very easily. Its the new harder orange plastic ones that I have part#
063 133 555.
Can thes sockets be purchased from a VW dealer or must I again order from Porsche to correct my mistake that I have now learnt from.

plastic just keeps breaking now there is nothing left to grab...what size tap is needed to run through the threads to get this cut out ???

update... Its out now with out running a tap through. made sure its all clean now. Ready for reinstallation of another new one properly this time.

Question still stands can this sockets be purchased through VW?

You don't have to even get them from a VW Dealer. Any decent VW Shop (and even many regular auto parts stores) will/should have the injector sockets in stock as they were a common time used on VWs, and Audis as well as the 924.

Those injector sockets were used for years and years and I would have to guess.

Maybe 76-88 VW Rabbit, Fox, Jetta, Golf, with Bosch CIS fuel injection?

When I replaced mine they were like a dollar each - all parts that the shop had listed under VW rabbit. They should be easy to find. Take one in if you can, and a lot of guys should recognize them.

ok thanks for the info instead of running all over town I picked up the phone and called my neighborhood VW dealer gave the part # ordered 2 of them (thinking ahead this time lol ) and will be picking up on wed. at least thats what the parts guy said as they are in stock in the wharehouse.
