the 924 has an iron one....mine is bent and its rubing on the oil bay realy hard...i think its going to make a hole very soon.
i have the one on the 944S wich is made of aluminium...has anyone done this swap before ? any ideeas ? _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

No the 944 cross member is different and will not mount up correctly on the 924. _________________ -'87 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 6" of lift 33" Super Swampers

Actually, you could mount the 944 crossmember IF you are willing to change the front suspension and the steering rack to 944 parts.
This conversion has been done several times by people converting 924s to the 944 or 968 engine.
The procedure entails cutting the crossmember mounts from the 944S chassis, cutting open the 924 chassis, and welding in the mounts for the 944 crossmember.
Then of course you would need to manufacture mounts for the 924 engine, because the 944S crossmember is only designed to work with a 944 engine block.
Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a used front crossmember from a 924? |

i'll try to find one in town for sale.....but i dont think the engine mounts would be affected...the engine does not tuch the crossmember.
however i droped the ideea...too bad...it would have been a great upgrade it it was bolt on. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits
