Bosch brown tops are good for 36lbs @43.5psi, running them with the dodge 55psi FPR makes for around 42lb/hr...
There are no 40lb injectors, the Eclipse/Talon injectors are about 44lb injectors if I recall correctly, no idea about the pressure though.
For a mostly stock 931 EFI conversion, 33lb injectors will work just fine. Don't push for more than 200hp and you won't have any problems. If that's not enough, go get some bigger injectors. The turbo dodge injectors are a good starting point, since you get a 55psi FPR out of the deal, and this alone will get more fuel out of other injectors which are rated at 43.5psi.
As for throttle body position sensors, look for EFI Buick V6's. They put them in Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs as well, the series two 3.8 liter V6. The throttle position sensor is actuated by a linkage which is mounted on the end of a keyed shaft, just like on a 924 or 52mm VW/Audi throttle body. Thanks for the replies Guys.
I think, after much reading of the forum, that I'm going to put the injectors in the inlet manifold, firing towards the head.
I've obtained a spare manifold and have made some injector bungs.
I'll let you know how it goes if you're interested.
BTW. Next step is an Eaton blower.

Question for endwrench and yourself: How did you go about making the injector bungs? _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

Best way is on a lathe. Get a piece of pipe/tube roughly the same length, make sure the injector nozzle will fit through the hole. Bore the tube inside until it's wide enough for the o-ring to fit with a little compression. Cut the tube to length so that the o-ring bottoms in the machined section, and the nozzle protrudes past the end of the bung slightly. I'd mitre the bung and weld it into the intake manifold myself, filling the injector ports with expoxy. That way you can keep the injectors somewhat isolated and get a nice spray through the ports, with lots of time for mixing and atomizing.
The other route would be to modify the head to accept the larger insert, and do pretty mcuh the same thing. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

You can pretty much see the way I went about it by looking at the picture I posted on the first page of this thread. The bung on the right is the top view with the slot cut for the installation "tool".
I haven't built any manifold mount style bungs and probably wont. My custom intake will be sheet metal so I will use steel to fabricate them pretty much the same way Cbass explained.

If you are into something a little more detail oriented I'm going with 40 lbs. injectors as shown here.
Picture says a thousand words.
PM for details. |
