Sorry, there isn't any cheap way to get more power from a 924S 2.5L engine. You can a slight hp improvement (5hp?) by installing a "chip" in the ECU ($300-$600), but that will require the use of preimum grade fuel at all times.
If you have an automatic tranny, you could convert to a manual tranny. This would free up the approximate 20% horsepower loss due to transmission loading. The cost shoudl be close to $1000, if you do all of the conversion work yourself, and shop for a used transmission (plus the other parts that will be needed).
The least expensive way to add significant hp is to sell your 924S, and buy a 951 (944T). |

Forget that stuff, you'll hardly notice a difference.
Do a search on supercharging if you have several thou to spend.
Here's some info from Speed Force Racing:
SFR Level 1 944 Supercharger system-$3999
SFR Level 2 944 Supercharger system-$4999
SFR Level 3 944 Supercharger system-$5999
Or there are members on this board who have cheaper solutions, do a search.... _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

I would suggest a search using just the key word supercharger.
Then you will find more than enough information to consider including some "Porschographic images" great stuff.
Of course will also see posts about turbos as well or adding power.
Like Turbocharging an NA, etc... same applies to the 2.5 as does the 2.0 and engine is an engine, each has its limits.
Seriously their is information about superchargers, about turbochargers, about nitrous, about adding power in general.
Note to mention examples.
SFR has a lot of good stuff and considering their kits used to be in the 6-8,000 range, they have gotten better.
Their are member doing it their self or have done it with the 2.0, and you could follow the example to do the 2.5! |
