Hello!Please sorry for my shameful english.I live in Spain,and im 25.I have one 924 and now,two 931 for recover,to the 1979.
I have two problems and i dont know that i must to do.two months proving things and i m a bit tired, this is the reason that i need help.
ONE
Another day,i start to disassemble the fuel distributor of one of my 931 for trye in the plate 931.Oks.I ONLY remove the fuel injector banjo bolts,,the control pressure line, and the fuel feed and return lines.only rest the 3 screws who maintain the fuel distributor. In this moment i cant remove this screws, and i decided remove later.I mount all the previous pieces, and i finish.
The car ALWAYS start with no problem. In the moment that i mount the fuel distributor, the car start for one-two second, and die.Only disassemble the pieces of the fuel distributor, not REMOVE the fuel distributor. Why the car dont go now?????????????????
I dont know if i explained correct with my english.I hope anything understand me!!
SECOND
The plate 931.Another of 1979.Very similar problem. The fuel pump and rele was change. When i do this change, the car stars and go ok for one day.
Next day,the car dont start.
Fuel pump oks,and the fuel arrives to the distributor. The return line its ok.
The car starts very very badly, and only arrive fuel to two inyectors.in fact, only leaves fuel from two fuel inyector banjo bolts.Other two dont leave fuel.Must i replace the fuel distributor?
For start the car i need move manual the sensor plate.Other form dont start.
And this is all!!! Sorry for my bad explain of the situation, and my writing mistakes.
Any help i will be thankful you!!!

if you are not getting any fuel at out of the banjo bolts on the second car then you have something plugged in the fuel distributor,
how long were these cars sitting before you got them, and what did you do to the fuel system before attempting to start them. _________________ 3 928s, |

Hello liszt924, welcome to the 'board
Your English is not too bad. I think I understand the description of your problem but I don't know enough about the 931's to help you.
Just to make it clear;
You have two 931's. One has a sunroof -"Targa" is Italian for "Plate", probably the same in Spanish? We say Targa or sunroof.
The other 931 does not have a sunroof.
Both are 1979 models.
You removed some parts from the fuel distributor of one running 931 to try them in the other 931 (the fuel injector banjo bolts, the control pressure line and the fuel feed and return lines) but you could not remove three other screws so you decided to bolt it back together and try it later.
But when you bolted the fuel distributor back together, the car would not start.
With the other 931, the one with the sunroof, you replaced the fuel pump relay and fuel pump. The car ran for a day but would not start the next day.
You have checked the fuel system and found that you are only getting fuel out from two lines at the fuel distributor.
If you push the metering plate down manually, you can get the car start. But the car does not run well.
Lizard is on to it already^^^ _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Maybe there's someone on the board who is bilingual ... maybe liszt924 could post back in Spanish and have it translated???? Might be a good assignment for my high school student who's been studying spanish for five years...liszt924 give it a try ... post it in spanish and I'll have my son work on translating it ... maybe extra credit for school _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Sorry to everybody for my bad explain!!!! I will do two posts, one in spain and same in my "English",i think that the idea of ideola is a good idea for me!
POST 1 ESPAŅOL
Ok,sere simple.
POST 1 "ENGLISH"
Ok,i will be explain easy.Situation: Porsche 931,year 1979(brown)
The car start and goes well
Disassemble all the screws of the piece(fuel inyector banjo bolts, etc),and only remains the 3 screws who maintain the fuel distributor.I cant in this moment remove it,because are very hard, and i mount the screws that i remove previously.I mount it with no order.
ATENTION:I dont remove the complete fuel distributor, only the screws of it!
The car now no goes.Only starts for 1-2 second and die...
What XXXXX the matter with this car?Must i do a order to mount the screws of the fuel distributor? There are no leaks of fuel, and all the screws of the piece that i mount are tightened!!!!
Oks.this is the situation 1.Later i will write the situation 2,more hard!!!!
Really, thanks to all for the annoyances. Its my problem who i dont know english, not your problem!!!!but i dont have any forum in spain that can help me.....
Thanks another time

The car now funciona.Solo does not start during seconds and it is stopped That devils ocurre?Hay that to follow an order of assembly of the screws of the distributor of fuel?No there is lost and all the screws estan strongly tight. POST 1 "ENGLISH" Ok, i will be explain easy.Situation: Porsche 931, to year 1979(brown) The to car start and goes well Disassemble all the screws of the piece(fuel injector banjo bolts, etc), and only remains the 3 screws who maintain the fuel distributor.I cant in this moment remove it, because plows very hard, and i mount the screws that i remove previously.I mount it with not to order. Not a really good translation must use a little different dialect or something. But at least we can get an idea what you are talking about.
Well hope nothing got into the distributor when you had the lines off, if this problem happened after you did this, and not before, I would think some dirt or something got in side the unit. You could try flushing it out, take lines off and then get some carb. Spray cleaner and then spray out all the inlets?
Have you played around with the 3mm Allen screw, to set the mixture? If so, the mixture might not be right. If it is only running a few seconds, that it might be just running off the cold start valve. Mine will do this if it is set too lean. I would also check your fuel pressures, control and system. Also do a volume check of the pump to see if it is good. Not sure if this will help you but maybe? _________________ 81 931

I don't want to go off topic here, but ideola brought up a good point. We have members from all over the world, and probably have several members who could translate posts for members whose English may be marginal.
Perhaps we could have a list of translators somewhere on the board.
My wife is (was) German, so if any of you need anything translated from/to German/English, let me know. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |
