Hey Rukh, whaddaya reckon about Joes924racer's car?

OK, the choice of colours is... um... er... not to my tastes

But I reckon he's hit on a pretty good idea with the two tone paint. One colour above the upper body crease line and another below. There's another about (can't remember whose? Anyone?) that's done in... ah... shall we say a slightly more tasteful shade of metallic grey and a dark blue, IIRC.

Reckon you could PhotoShop something like that up? With colours to your tastes, of course...

And you complained Alex Roy's manifold was hideous?!

(good PhotoShop-ing, tho. I'm terrible at that stuff )

Haha! That is pretty hideous isn't it?
Yeah, that was one of the rejects when I was playing around with ideas for the wide body project. I've tried and tried to make something work with graphics using the natural hood contours, but for some reason, none of those designs clicked. So I've abandoned that idea altogether.

We have settled on a very cool graphic design and color scheme, and trust me, the wide body will be hot hot hot when we're done with it. I'm not going to reveal any of the renderings, though...just have to wait until we unveil it in time for our 2nd annual Metro Detroit Toofah Road Rally on Memorial Day '06! (That's the end of May).

That would be Jazzerpet's car...silver on top, dark blue on bottom, and three really nice racing stripes down the hood...check out this post:

I've seen this car in person and it looks great!

Also, look at CMXXXI's car (I think this is his):

well, interest in my efforts to redesign the 924.org site have pretty much disappeared. I did have plans to create a library of all the images the site used - both original and resized. I just don't think a discussion board is a place to house site content - its supposed to be a discussion.

but thats just me depressed about not having the time (right now) to doo al l the work myself . . .

I have a very good condition front bumper for sale. PM me. I actually had two bumpers and both painted the same color as my car in the event I get hit in NYC.

I am too careful and now I would like to sell the extra one.

Rukh: if you want some more vw pictures, you can take a look at this link. It's a vw board here in quebec. All the topics are related to pictures (not only vw). the guy named "Castro" usually take very good pictures.

No! I'm on the list for a kidney transplant

It has very hard suspension in it which is not the most pleasant on our generally poor roads.

Still, it's great fun on the right roads (or on a track, I'm sure). It sticks like sh*t to a blanket and you feel everything the car is doing.

Yes. Speed bumps and driveways are the bane of my existence

That's a very nice MK1, German built or converted Westmoreland?

Clipper kit, shaved signals, lowered so nicely... I'm in awe.

I must say I'm not a tremendous fan of the stretched tires... Why not just a set of 15" BBS RS's with some sticky 205/50/15's?

I confess to having a bit of a MK1 fetish myself. Although my '84 GTI is a practical street car for me, so my modifications are less cosmetic and more functional. Dropped the front swaybar, going to reinstall it when I finish making my new additional torsion beam stiffener, very similar to the Shine piece.

I will make a concession that I plan to change radiator supports and put on the front clip from a German built MK1, but that's because my car has mild accident damage from letting my ex girlfriend back it out of a tight parking space.

I'm also looking at an '84 GLI 2 door, rolling chassis that is pretty much free in Courtenay. The body looks to be in ok condition, and if I buy it it'll receive the euro grill and headlights, be lowered and receive similar treatment to the suspension as my GTI.

I don't know much about that orange car, I have 994 pictures of A1-chassis VW's on my hard drive, and don't know the story behind at least 30% of them.

The blue (for now) bunny in my sig is my car. This winter, or maybe spring, it's going to have all rust repaired, indicators shaved, dents fixed, primered, a Clipper kit installed,
dropped on its balls, black powdercoated 16" wheels off my old 928, get sprayed flat black w/ gloss black trim and white roof, and new lights all the way around. Interior
will be white and black.

I'm a regular in the A1 Forum on the 'Tex. I don't post a whole heck of a lot, but that's my joint.

Thanks for the 924 pic thread!
