This really sucks now. the other day I washed my engine and I covered everthing except the oil filler and the dipstick because I assumed they were water proof but now I'm guessing water has gotten in through the dipstick.

ok today before starting the car when I took it off the ramps, I had to top it off with a different brand of oil, kinof different colour, castrol gtx, it kinof has a greenish-blue colour.... the rest of the oil in the car was quaker state, which is brownish. anyways wafter starting the car and checking the oil level I first noticed there were tiny bubbles mixed in the oil on the dipstick then after running the car for a few minustes I shut it off and I wanted to check the oil again and this time I removed the filler caop and the filler cap looked like it was covered in white milk! it was white looking oil the rest of the oil doesn't look like that on the dipstick but like I said I saw tiny bubbles on the dipstick a few times.

would this be water? and am I really screwed now ? if there is water in the oil what can I do? just replacing the oil wouldn't get all the moisture out.

tommorow I'm going to drive the car up ramps again under covers and see what I can do.

also today I hat to top off the oil in the rain but i'm pretty sure rain didn't get in the oil it must have been from washing the engine yesterday.

1. Please don't touch a gun. Ever.

2. No way that much water entered through the oil filler or dipstick. If they were in place the time you washed the engine, that is.

ps: you should make a book from your postings, an anti-haynes, the motto is "if you don't do this to your car she'll be fine". Few months and you can afford a new 911.

ok but I want to know what to do now. I saw tiny bubbles in the oil on the dipstick and the worst was the white milk coloured stuff on the oil filler cap.

if there is water would just draining the oil again and refilling fix the problem or am I screwed?

And don't forget the important part, put the plug back in and add oil!

i dont know how muuch bubble was on the dipstick but anything "foamy" probably means there is coolant in your oil. Just a few bubles could be water. Drain the oil and see what happens.
