when i bought the car it had an aftermarket front strut tower brace (one that goes over the engine. It make the car really stiff, i think sometimes even too stiff. I sware the one of the front wheels will come off the ground if i go over a a slant on a corner. When i jack up the car and put it on stands, ill get it on stands in the back and then jack up the front. If i do the driver's side first the passenger side comes up with it. the other side doesnt even sag or need to be jacked. It stays almost level.
I almost think my front end is too rigid.
Any of you have strut tower braces?. I'm thinking im going to take it off and drive for a week or so and see if i like the feel better. just looking for opinions.

Sounds like you're a proponent of "If it ain't broke, fix it.".
Nothing wrong with the cars' structure being rigid. Most would only complain about the opposite scenario.
Stabilizer bar/s would have more to do with keeping the wheels level with each other than a strut brace would. If yours are adjustable, try adjusting them.
Were you jacking up the front drivers side from under the a-arm or from under the frame? If jacking under the a-arm, a stiff stabilizer bar would tend to cause the other wheel to raise too. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

ditto on the pics
Not to be a vulture here but if you end up removing it and want to sell it let me know. I have a couple cars that could stand to be 'too stiff'. |
