| In reading the Haynes manual for my '78 NA, it says to pull the valve cover and adjust the valves every 15,000 miles. Is this necessary? No other vehicle I've ever driven has ever required adjustment of the valves, so is this a VW/Audi quirky requirement, or is the writer just paranoid? |

Do them now, check them again in 15,000 miles and make up your own mind.
It's your money, a valve cover gasket now or valves and a head gasket set later.
I have always found at least 2 that were out of tolerance.
Maybe most of your other cars had self adjusting valves? _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"
