924boy, I have a question about your signature.
you state that you want 3" exhast, are you aware that 3" exhaust will actually cause you to LOOSE power, the optimum exhaust for the 924 2.0L engine is 2.25" mandral bent, and 2.5" non mandral bent, if you go anything bigger then you loose alot of the pulse effect and loose backpressure and you will see massive losses in power.

You can paint CF but you need to use U.S. Navy Airplane Paint. Cause my cousion used to paint airplanes that where made of CF. No i want one cause it would be lighter, and CF hoods look cool on cars. Oh and ya i was told that so i might have a new 2.25" cat-back exhaust made.

Sincerely,
Jesse

CF doesnt look good on any car, if it is done for weight savings that is understandable, but only on a true track car, you can loose WAY more weight by gutting the interior and removing other things before you need to think about this.
I cant stand the look of a CF hood unpainted on ANY car though. it looks like it has been in an accident with a mismatched body panel.

Make sure the hood latches are stock and that they are mounted firmly.

My son's MR2 Turbo carbon fiber hood released at speed (the hood latch pulled out of the CF), bent around the windsheild, hit the open T roof and my son's head.

He managed to stop the car without hitting anything, then passed out. It took 8 staples to close the wound and a couple of hours of cleaning up the blood and hair that was smattered all over the interior.

Would you have me turn down the best/ only 924 for sale in the province? I thought they were all like that.

It may seem ricey but at least it's modeled after the next step in evolution.

It could look like a robot that attacks pedestrians.

In my eyes my car was done tastefully. And it was done in 1987, waayy before the modding craze.

I would not put a true CF hood on a street car using stock latches and hinges.

Stock steel hoods are designed to fold on a fontal impact. That's one of the purposes of those hooks you see at the back of the hood. A CF hood will tend to shear off the latches and hinges and come straight back. The visualization is not pretty.

CF hoods need pins on all four corners.

Bear in mind that most "ricer" CF hoods are really fiberglass with a single layer of carbon on the top.
