I've been looking at a 924 for an upgrade from my current car.
I've got a Chevy S-10 for a daily and a VW Squareback for a hobby car. I'd like to find a sportier car to replace the VW, and if I can replace the Chevy with the same car, I'd be much happier.
Problem is, I'm 6'4" with 38" legs. Will I fit? I'd like to, because there are several nice 924s in my area that are less than $3000. I haven't seen anyone post a specs page on the 924, so I don't know any of these details. |

I'm 6' 2.5" and fit in my 944 very comfortably. But my wife's 931 seems a little cramped. I think the seat height is different. You'll fit but you may need to swap out the seats. Drive a couple and you'll know right away. _________________ '84 944 - kid blew motor

Yes, you'll fit. Ferry Porsche was kinda short himself, but apparently had nothing against the tall peeps and made sure they fit in his cars. In fact we have an about 6'8" 924 driver floating around here somewhere - I think from BC, Canada (Minus?). The steering wheels are even offset a bit to give a bit more vertical leg room. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

You'll fit, I'm 6'1" and I have no problems, my father-in-law has driven my car and he is 6'6". There is lots of leg room length-wise to stretch out, however, the steering wheel is low and not adjustable and will rub your thighs. You can fit a smaller wheel and this will give a bit more room. Some 924's also have spacers under the driver's seat which can be removed to lower the seat about an inch (my 1977 parts car had these). _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

You're 4 cms, or one and a half inch taller then me.
And you should have little problem fitting inside one of these lovely babies.
As they've said before, legspace is no problem, and the only issue I have is when the sun is out, it's hot, and I'm waring shorts. The first turn of the steeringwheel is hot for the thighs.
On a more serious note, I've driven even with passengers in the back, which means that I must put the seat forwards. It's OK for a short drive., but nothing for cross Europe treks like I do in the summer.
The number one thing is roof clearance. I had to put the back further down then I was used to to not bump my head in the roof. It's a habit to drive like I do now, and I've driven for far longer trips then I should have ..... I mean more then 24 hours with nothing but stops at gasstations...... And then I have to give up becuase my mind is gone and I seriously need to rest my head, not my body. |

Yeup, I'm 6'3" and with the seat back all the way, I can't get the clutch all the way to the floor without stretching.
The steering wheel is a PITA, if you want to heel toe downshift, which I do. I replaced mine with a smaller wheel, it's tiny by comparison but frees up my leg movements during braking and cornering. Thanks Neil _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

| you will not have a problem i am 6'2'' and space is not an issue for me if you do have a problem with the steering wheel being to low there are aluminum spacers under the seat rails just take those out. i took them out on mine it drops the seat by an inch or so. i have a frine who is rougly 6'7'' and he has driven my car no problem with the spacers out. |

Well, I'm five-nothing and sports cars fit me like a glove
But one of my mates is 6' 6" and he finds my car quite comfortable. But as others have said, it's the legroom under the steering wheel that's the problem. The steering wheel is set very low. You may want to change it to a smaller one. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I'm short 5'7 so I actually move my seat all the way forward. The 924 seems to be pretty roomy especially for a small sports car. _________________ 78 924 sold.

I'm a football player....
Have a seat position like Michaels Schumacher's. Far from the pedals is your butt but close to the wheels with your arms. Recline the seat a few degrees and slide the seat back a few notches and it's like a lazyboy, all the room you need. Almost enough room for two! |

Thanks. First time I asked this of an owner online, he was sure I wouldn't fit.

Porsche is currently doing this with the 996 and 997 models. Learning from the owners, I guess. |

I like to keep my seat as upright as possible, my arms bent so that I can get good leverage, close to the steering wheel. I can't have my knees bent too much, otherwise I won't be able to pivot my right foot to heel toe, and I do love to heel toe. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
