Bass, heres what tweeks say about it: (at the bottom it details constant running)

About this product

The revolutionary and innovative EBP electric water pump represents a great advancement in automotive cooling management, It has been designed predominantly to increase power and improve cooling efficiency by replacing the mechanically driven water pump. This lightweight and compact unit is far more efficient than traditional pumps, and as such helps to release wasted power and tailors the flow of coolant more accurately to the engine's needs. The EBP has the following benefits: Increase engine power and torque. Better control of engine temperature, reduces coolant volume. Increase in cooling capacity, reduce radiator size, increase in maximum engine speed, improves fuel economy, extends engine life. No impeller or axle 'drag'. Flexible options for pump control. Lighter than standard pump. Compact design, 2 year guarantee. Easy to fit. Supplied with selection of fittings and full fitting instructions. The EBP runs at a speed independent to that of the engine, and is designed to be fitted as low as possible in the coolant circuit to maximise gravity feed and prevent air entering the pump. Designed for universal fitment, the pump can be mounted in several different configurations. Voltage: 9V-15V DC, Max Current: 1.3A, Flow: 13.3L/min (176 gall/hr), Op. temp: -40 to 135ÿ¿ÿ°, Pump Design: Clockwise centrifugal, Motor Life: 15,000 hours, Weight: 260 grams, Dimensions: 70x48mm body, 12-20mm in/outlet, Drive: Magnetic - no shaft seal. This makes the EBP ideal for water cooled motorcycle engines and also sidecar outfits. Wire the pump direct to the ignition for maximum cooling and continuous running - requires removal of the thermostat and mechanical pump impeller.
Simon, do the pumps come with clamps etc for attaching to the car, or is it purely a variety of different pipe fittings supplied?

The pump comes with the required pipe stubs to fit. If you cut the bottom hose it will squeez in fine.
I would get the new version with higher flow rate.
I run the pump continuously. I did use the control box but it failed after 2 years of use. The pump is still fine though.
I am after the higher rate pump myself...just need the cash!

Cheers
Simon

Cheers for that Simon. One more question. Does the coolant flow into or out of the bottom hose??

looks really good bass, what colour did you opt for in the end...looks kinda continental to me!

Got quite a few bits to fit now, spa gauges, gts headlight buckets, fia switch, boost controller, fuchs alloys (not exactly hard to fit but at least I have some now!) to name but a few. F/g bonnet and seat should be here soon so I'll have my work cut out after my holidays blending the fg buckets, bonnet, brake cooling pipes etc. Like the splitter and the spoiler.....you really ARE up for the fight then.

The car is a credit to you, looks fast , very well sorted.
From expereince you might think about the font splitter and see if you cant make it such that an off that bends the splitter doesn't require the whole front air dam to be replaced.

From the photo the splitter looks riveted to the air dam...is it?
If so bolts would allow you to replace it. A few of the venues we do are bit unforgiving when it comes to grass trips!

Are the wheels 16"?
I was talking to Porscheshop at Brands and they reckon the boxter caliper kit will fit 15", although I do think my wheels are getting a bit shot now.
According to the written report Ian McMath the 914/6 guy was 'under the weather'.....rats, thought I'd beaten a quick one on a good day!!

Cheers
Simon

I bought the mounting adaptors from Porscheshop and fitted Boxster calipers under 16" Fuchs on my 931. There isn't much clearance from memory but I'll check for you - 15" will probably mean fag paper clearance if they fit.

I was a bit disappointed at Brands - I only spotted 2 931's and one was a race car! I wonder if many will turn up at Reading for the anniversary? It seems they're getting quite rare now.

Simon,

First off, congrats at the Porsche Festival. Whether the 914/6 was out of sorts or not, a win is a win.
Re the front splitter. Nope, it's bolted in place, so it should minimise the damage when i take to the scenery.
The wheels are 16" and fit a treat. Fronts are 7's and the rears are 9's. Seem to fill the arches nicely.
Off on Monday to get a new exhaust fitted, then try and sort out the oil breather. Spoke to Demon tweeks and it seems the 110 litre water pump, although listed is not available. They included it as the maker assured them of the delivery, yet 18 months later, still no sign of them. So i've ordered up the 80 litre unit. Just got to get the water pump back from the fabricators.

Regards,

Steve

Steve
Thanks, it was nice to win, next up is getting the old girl to go as well up the hills!

Regarding wheels and tyres...wait before buying any tyres as I am awaiting a chat with the club about tyres for next year. Not sure what if anything might change but best not to shell out for a set just yet unless you plan an outing for the final round at longleat. In that case I may have a set you can get away with spare.

Cheers
Simon
