Hello all
I wonder if you are all aware that the 924 will be 30 in November
In the UK I am helping to organise a 924 meeting at the main importers at Reading, England for members of the Porsche Club.
And I know there is a big event going on in France at about the same time.
Are any other events going on around the motoring world to mark the event? _________________ --

This is as near as we (Porsche Club GB 924 Register) have got to finding the exact date - maybe Porsche cars have the date somewhere in their archives.
It is known that the first official appearance of the 924 took place in November 1975 (as a press launch rather than a motorshow appearance) at the harbour at La Grande Motte, Camargue in the South Of France - there are pictures documenting this event.
The earliest road test I have found is from Autocar dated 22nd November 1975 - another article (dated 4th December 1975) mentions that (John Bolster) "...was able to test the 924 in France" which may have been on launch day.
The John Bolster test was published in Autosport Dec 4 1975 according to the Porsche 924 gold portfolio. He would have had to have driven it at least a week beforehand due to copy deadlines, but no more than two, and the 22nd Nov sits comfortably 12 days before. _________________ --
