So I got the i/c installed and had the guys at Scan set the a/f mixture properly.I got the 2 channel intake temp and the a/f ratio gauges working and the car pretty much together and finished but I still have a surging problem at low rpms. The a/f gauge reads 1 dot over the stoich side at the rich side at idle but when I accelerate the gauge reads less than lean,I mean the light goes out totally on the lean side until the wot switch is triggered then the car smoothes out and the air fuel reads perfectly and holds steady in the stoich range. That's when the car feels like it used to only faster due to more boost.
Any ideas ? WUR maybe? fuel dizzy ?The car ran perfectly before I took it apart and the WUR was rebuilt professionaly only last year.

On the plus side the 2 stage boost controller works awsome.Low is set at 8 and high is 11 psi.,I love the fact that you can change the setings on the fly. Also good is the i/c itself. The temp gauge says that no matter what speed i'm at it lowers intake temps by almost half ! On the highway cruising in 5th gear the air going into the i/c was 100 f and after was 35 f ! In the city it goes from 110 down to about 55,not bad,not bad. When I get some money i'm going to get a custom aluminum heat exchanger made up instead of the AC condenser i'm using now,it doesn't have enough flow I think,it was built for gasses not liquids.Yep,all in all i'm pretty happy with how it came out.Gotta find a dyno.......

so does anyone here disagree with me that it would be safe to run a MIN of 1 bar of boost on the high setting with the IC setup and 7.5:1 CR?

Obviously you're running too lean for some reason. Here's a description of what my gauge shows at idle, part throttle, full throttle - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=13514&start=3
idle - steady 14.5:1 -or- lean (anywhere below 14.5:1 to all lights out) -or- flopping up-down past 14.5:1 when in closed-loop
part throttle - a bit on the rich side while warming up, then flopping when warm in closed-loop mode
accellerating - it comes out of closed-loop and goes right to a steady rich reading.
full throttle - steady rich reading (all but the very top led turn on).

In that case I feel supremely confident that victory shall be mine because by the time you get back and get that jalopy on the road i'll be in something alittle more,um,refined.

easier to do it when I get back,
however in regards to the slips, I will race you as soon as the 85 is insured, first one to 160 MPH wins, what do you think guys sound fair, an 80 931 intercooled with more boost, against a Euro 85 928S 5 speed w/ short final drive to a speed that is not even possible for the 931
