I purchased a new windshield wiper motor about a week ago, the old was shot when i 12-volt tested it. The new one works fine(when 12volt testing). When everything is hooked up, fuse in, intermintent relay in, motor installed and pluged in...I go to start the car and the fuse blows. And then the fuse blows again and again....everytime i replace it. And i have the right amp fuse in.
I dont know whats wrong or how to fix it, any suggestions? _________________ late 1979 porche 924, red 2.0l NA 5speed snailshell

the motor may be fine, but did you replace just the motor OR the motor and tranny, as sometimes the tranny needs to be taken apart cleaned and regreased,
also you will want to check/clean the ground wire to the motor. _________________ 3 928s, |

The old one may have melted some wires.
edit:
I think there were 2 different motors- early and late.
Ignore me if I am wrong. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

the ground wire is run inside the cabin and to the crown point behind the fusebox, I had disconnected this and ran a new ground wire that attached to the bolt that holds the front piece of the arm that the wiper motor sits on,
as per the location of the wiper motor, there is only 1 way I have seen it be able to be installed, I dont have a pic, but if you take one I am sure we could tell you what is wrong. _________________ 3 928s, |

Hey Levans, I see you're selling "THE 924". Going with another Porsche or something else. _________________ TJ

Just remembering the fault I had with mine. I have had a few sleeps since.
The PO had wired the motor in wrong. (all wires on multi plug cut and reconnected wrong)
It had melted the contacts and plastic in the control arm.
When I rewired the motor to what I thought was right it was blowing fuses.
You may need a new control arm. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA
