Could someone please tell me what offset I need after my 5-lug conversion from a 83 944?. They must fill out. I don't know the with, because I have not got any rims yet.

this information is all over the net and this board, good to research this type of info before posting. I.e., enter data, hit 'search'.
1983-86 used 215/60/15, with 7" width (NA cars), 23 mm offset. from '87 on, 52mm offset -most likely for ABS.

You need 6 X 15 52.3mmm offset for the front. 7 X 15 52.3mm offset wheels will rub at full lock (on the swaybar and the fender lips), and/or full suspension compression.

In the rear you can use the 19-21mm spacer that came from the 944 with the same 6 X 15 52.3mm offset wheels as the front, or 7 X 15 52.3mm offset wheels for improved handling. 7 X 15 in the rear will not leave clearance for tire chains.

Sorry for the clumsy question. I know the standard offset. What I was wondering about was what I need to fill the fender... I have 7x17 et 35 (215/45 front and 235/40 rear) now, and with 9 mm spacer i front and 34 rear I am not totally satisfied. I think 15 mm front and maybe 45 mm rear will be nice. That would be the same as 7x17 et 20 front and et +10 rear. Therefor a 8x17 et 0 rear would be best. What would I need after a 5-stud conversion to fill out app. the same? With 17" rims?
