i have an 1977 porsche 924,, ON HOT START,,,it does idle fine at one thousand rpm but when i press a bit more on the gas pedal, its stutter, white smoke come out of the muffler, even i press more it wont go pass 4,000 rpm, WHAT WENT WRONG?

It may be a blown head gasket. Are you losing antifreeze (is the overflow bottle's level dropping or does it have brown water in it?)?

Do a compression check and tell us the results.
