Does your car have power steering? I though some of the later models might from Europe. IF so, go as big as you want, but if not, you'll get tired at low speeds... _________________ 1987 951 - M193 Version for Japan |

| I'm pretty sure that 215's fit all around under the stock fenders. |

I have a '79 924 with the 4 bolt 15" spiderweb wheels on it. I'm running 205/60's at all four corners. I had to roll the front fender lips so the tires would not rub. With just regular driving they were fine and would not rub but when I would push the car to it's limits, the front tires would rub. I don't know how some of you guys are able to run 215's or 225's on your cars without the tires rubbing?!? _________________ 79 924 Sebring |

^ that's surprising to hear, 205/60/15 was a stock size on the 931, althought the front lips are rolled on the 931 from the factory.
Anyway, 205/60/15 is probably the best size for a 6x15" wheel. I suppose you might need to roll the front fender lip, probably depends on the specific tire brand/model.

You need to keep in mind that a 205/60/15 is not the same size or even the same profile from different tire manufacturers.
Kinda like shoes sizes from different shoe manufacturers.
And front clearance is different, because as others have already pointed out, some cars came with the front fender lips rolled up from the factory and other cars did not. |

Well, the factory tire size for the '80 931 was a 185/70/15. I run 205/60/15's on factory spiderwebs on the front, and 215/60/15's on the same rims on the back. I have the back ride height adjusters all the way down, and have no rubbing problems. I have always liked a little bigger tires on the back, it looks more like a race car. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

i perfer the big rears also. Places seem to like to argue with me about doing it though. Saying u should have the same size tire and all that shit all the way around. I wish some shops just did what they were told and didnt ask questions _________________ Go hard or go home |

if that were the case then why do the more high-performance vehicles have wider tires on the rear?!? DUH TRACTION.
They're full of it, they just want to sell you a full set.
I also have 205/55-R16s on my 931, but at one point I had 225/50R-16s on the back. Unfortunately, those were REALLY shitty tires; they had sidewalls so soft that I couldn't corner very well and the back end would float on straights.
Just keep in mind that wider tires like to follow road grooves a lot more _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE
