|
|
Hi I have a 1979 euroedition 931, and I just bought myself a 17" rims.
the front wheels are 7,5" wide
and the rears are 9" wide
do you guys know anybody who has tried this on his car. or will I just have to get a widebody kit so the rims will fit.
I've already ordered it, but they haven't arrived yet. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 turbo (euro) |

Might as well start saving your pennies cuz I see a body kit purchase in your 'not so distant' future _________________ MJ

That depends on the offset of the wheels. If they're the correct offset, around 53mm, you should be able to sneak the fronts in with a low profile tire, although you may need to roll the fenders to keep it from rubbing. For the rears, I'm not sure if you'll need a spacer or not, but it'd be a rather tight squeeze under any circumstances. Again, rolling the fenders may be necessary.
If they're an off the shelf generic wheel that isn't the correct offset, they probably won't fit. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

Wheels that large are not recommended with use with four lugs because stress could exceed the design strength of the lug bolts or wheels and cause a sudden failure under load.
In other words, when turning hard, the wheels could fall/break off. |
