Would you believe "VW Beetle" or "VW K-70"?
If so, look here - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=10915&start=01 _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

I ordered the 77 Beetle from Parts America, 11/16th. Ok, am I beating this thread to deat, should I have a separate topic for each stage I get to and what I find, replace, repair, etc. What is this boards ettiquite for that?
Also, my hayes manual shows the 77 924 uses 30wt motor oil? No way...Really? _________________ 1977 924 basket case work in progress |

Motor oil weight depends on the environmental conditions (temperature), and operating condition of the engine (new and tight, v.s. old and worn). 30 weight oil is for engines in fair condition operated where the outside temperature does not exceed 90 degree F. If the engine is worn, or the outside temperatur is usually over 90 degrees F, then you probably want a heavier weight oil (to keep it in the engine).
I live in SoCal, and the outside temperature is usually too high for striaght 30W oil. I usually run 20W/50 in all of my Porsches. |

Well since apprantly my weber throttle body is not stock, can someone send me a pic of a stock config? I see a electrical connection hanging lose next to it thinking it is for a throttle position sensor? My Haynes manual isnt quite clear on it...could it be the OIL ON THE PICTURE OF IT? Much appreciated.
