|
|
| i've heard that water entering the passenger footwell area may not necessarily be from rusted battery compartments. i've heard that a lot of 924's have problems with the windshield seals and the A-pillar. they said that just the design of it was bad and that it's not necessarily the seal being old. just wanted to hear what you faithful 924 owners have to say about that. thanks. =) |

Your damp passenger footwell is most likely caused by:
leaking battery box
leaking sunroof
leaking sunroof A pillar tube
leaking a/c condensate drain
leaking windshield
leaking heater core _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

Bad bladder control of the passenger when cornering hard.
Looks like you covered all the bases Paul _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Paul, you forgot one possibility that drove me nuts with my car;
Previous leaking battery box which had been fixed (I presume) however before it was fixed it had eaten a small hole in the firewall above the fuse box which allowed water thrown up by the front wheel to leak in to the cabin. Kind of hard to describe, you had to be upside-down in the passenger footwell with a strong light to see it.
I'd suggest pulling out the passenger seat and getting on your back - scarey but interesting. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Only if someone aims the water hose in the wrong place....
Seriously, get a hose and see where it's leaking. Clean out the sunroof drains, blow out the A/C drain, etc.
The heater core is a PITA. |
