|
|
| hi i have a 924s 1988 and i was thinking about ripping out the old purple/redish carpet in my car. i'm trying to make the my car all red and black on the inside i have already sprayed the dash and the door pannels. i'm getting racing red/black seats soon but the carpet i have looks really ugly. what would be the best way to remove the carpet and what would be the best replacement. i'm trying to put in a black carpet. thanks in advance guys. |

sorry to hijack this thread, it seems prevalent to it though. how do you get the carpet around the accelerator pedal without ccutting it? this is on an 81 924, i see a black knob that looks like it might be what to push out, but i dont want to get to a point that i cant get back to!

You can unscrew the base of the pedal where it attaches to the floorboard, or unhook the linkage behind the pedal. I unhooked the linkage because I couldn't get the floor screws out. I'll cross that bridge when I am forced to replace the pedal. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

| push or pull the c-clip off, and pull the top pin out to release the top of the pedal...(this is the easiest way!) take your choice on clips...one on each end and 1 plastic bushing per side. |

i got to a point where i just said, hmm...what am i going to want to do when putting it back in? the easy way, or the right way? i decided the easy way. i made a clean cut from the top down to the pedal with a carpet cutting knife. it looks like it was factory done, and looks real clean. then i power washed it, used a little soap and voila, clean and black.
sorry again for the hijack.
