Hay i "inhereted" a 924 a few months ago from my mom. Well we've been working on it she finally got electric running through it.But the thin i would like to know is 1 i found a kit for pluging any sound that uses those red, and white female pieces(Like on the cord to hook up a xbox or ps2 to a tv those red and white male pieces)so you can hook up an xbox and here it over the sound system plus i am thinking about putting a 12v cigarett plug in in the hatch area(concealed) and carrying a 12v invertor so i can have my xbox, and a samll tv hooked up. I think it sounds good but i need to know all about the tech stuff what i need to do as a safe guard so i don't burn up my xbx and/or tv. just tell me the tech stuff and how to set it up

That's probably for a CD stacker or similar if its an input to the stereo. They are called RCA plugs.

I cannot give you any pointers about wiring if you don't know the basics.
You can end up with a smoked wiring loom or toasted vehicle.

If you don't know electrics, find someone who does and have them do the work. It might cost a few bucks but it's more likely to be done right and you probably won't die in a fire.

wiring can be tricky, and getting it wrong can cause serious issues. Its not hard once you have the basics though. id recommend you get a book on basic automotive electronics, and/or car stereo installation. that should give you a better idea of how things work, and how to add circuits and splice in wires.

Part of knowing wiring, including new stuff is calculating total loading, wiring the right size cable and fuses to protect the circuit.

if your going to add a 12 outlet, your definately going to need to run some heavier gauge wire, a relay, and a fuse at the very least. inverters require a good bit of juice as well, youll need clean power.you also have to run heavy guage grounds. your going to need to figure out load, and amperage requirements based on the sum total draw of the devices you want to plug in. you always want your max capacity to exceed the requirements by a safe margin (id say at least 20% .) if you dont know the difference between amperage, voltage, and wattage, or how to calculate and measure resistance in a circuit, you dont know how to "wire." if you did, you wouldnt of needed to ask such a general question here.
you dont need to be an expert to accomplish what you want, but you should at least study up a bit. If you go in blind, you run serious risk of under rating the power requirements. what happens then is the equivilent of friction builds up (resistance) in the wires and they heat up. they can get so hot in fact they they melt, and can litteraly catch on fire. since wires are run under carpeting and such, you really dont want one catching fire under there, or in the dash, or anyplace for that matter..
A car can totally burn out in under five minutes, and a "flare " can happen in as little as 30 seconds.
this is why people are hesitant to give you detailed "how to" information on this stuff. its not that we dont want to help, but its obvious you dont know the basics, and that can be very dangerous. So dont take these responses as an insult. A little effort on your part to educate yourself will go a very long way.

Right - start with the tv you want to use, plus anything else you might be running at the same time. Add up the current consumption of all the devices (you have to add still more for the tv's start-up current requirement (how much?- I don't know off hand)), then get an inverter with enough capacity to handle everything + the tv start-up. Your wire size is determined based on the total current (Amps) consumption and the length that the wire has to run - then you should put a fuse inline on the wire. Fuse rating should be > total current consumption and wire capacity should be > fuse rating. -So that under normal conditions, current draw is not high enough to blow the fuse and under abnormal conditions the fuse blows before the wire overheats.

First thing to do is search ebay and the net for a lcd screen. They are not that much and they are designed to run on 12v systems. My roof mount 10" wide screen was less than $300 and it was brand new and has a built in fm modulator. You won't have to worry about the power drain and your x-box will plug right into the video ports. Then go to Circuit city and buy a converter that plugs into you lighter to run the X-box... You can splice it to a perm. Supply if you want just run some new wires to the fusebox and tap it there. The X-box should run fine but I would not try to draw enough power to run a standard tube TV. You are asking for problems.
