Hey folks! I'm just finishing up with a move to the big city of Boston- I've been too busy to check out the board for a little while.

Anyway, after finding that the wastegate control was not tight the other day, I tightened it up and now I don't have much/any of that great turbo whistle sound. Don't worry, it didn't seem to be leaking enough to give me crazy boost, but I bet the turbo is working somewhat less now.

Just wondering how loud some of your beasts whistle under boost? I can hardly hear anything coming from the turbo at all now (yes, it does still build boost!).

My 81 Euro Sounds "Just Right" At One Bar.

The Whisle Is Just Enough To Let People Know Not To F*ck With It.

Oh, Also Had A Chance To Run Her On The Dyno. After A Few Runs And Adjusting Timing/Fuel And An Ice Bag On The Intercooler We Saw A Very Respectable 215-HP. Cool Huh

Mate, is that rear-wheel horsepower SoyRacer?!

Even at the flywheel that's pretty impressive!

I Have To Admit It.. We Only Made 195-HP To The Wheels. But If You Figure In An Additional 11% For Driveline Loss You Would Be Somewhere In The Neighborhood Of 215-HP.
I Was Surprised And Pleased But I Do Have To Also Admit To Cheating A Little On That Particular Run. It Was Closer To 1.1 Bar .

actually Soyracer, you dont take a 11% drivetrain loss, you should be taking a 15% drivetrain loss, so you were abit higher at the crank than you thought.

very nice, and that is 1.1Bar, how efficient is your IC supposed to be?

I Guess I Should Have Also Mentioned That I Only Run 110 Octane Leaded Race Fuel In This Car. Yeah, I Know..... This Guy Is Crazy With Fuel Costing Over $7.00 A Gallon! But As You Can See, It's Worth It. (I Only Get To Drive This Car Once Or Twice A Week If I'm Lucky)

Anyway, I Usually Only Calculate 11% Due To The Fact That I Like To Be Conservative With HP Figures And This Dyno Has Been Very Optimistic At Times In The Past.

I'm Not Sure Just How Efficient The Carrera GT Intercooler Is "Supposed To Be" But I Have Ducted It Very Well After The Scoop And The Power Level Drop Off Without It Is Very Noticeable.

I ran my car with just the downpipe ( no muffler or cat) for a couple weeks and the turbo was incredibly laud. It still has a nice amount of turbo nouse through the magnaflow straight through muffler and no cat (oregon emmissions package)
