how about posting your e-mail address so that the prospected buyers can contact you with ease,
and I would recommend that you get an answering machine that you can understand the messages or answering the phone as well, as I have a hard time contacting you as well. _________________ 3 928s, |

| Quote: | | WTF am I supposed to say...There is always an explaination, not always a good one, but nothing ever goes unchecked, Besides why would i even want bad Karma...I am not here to defend myself or make excuses |
Point # 1:
There is a difference between a reason and an excuse. I have been offered no good reason why my order has not been completed, consequently, everything I've heard on the matter sounds like an excuse.
Point # 2:
There is a difference between blame and responsibility. Reading back thru the post, I think most everyone that posted went out of their way to extend the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, once money has been sent, it is the sellers responsibility to follow thru on shipping the goods or refunding the money, regardless of whose fault it is that something "got screwed up".
Point # 3:
As I understand Karmic rules (or any other religious label you wish to substitute for Karma), it has nothing to do with intentions, but rather with actions.
Point # 4:
In this day an age of cell phones, email, instant messaging and various other methods of communication, there is no plausible explanation nor good excuse for the sort of poor communication characterized in the two instance I cited in my previous post. If there's a problem with parts or filling the order, just say so. And don't give me some BS about not having a way to contact me when I have sent multiple messages to both sellers involved with paypal transaction numbers and eBay item numbers. I took all of the guess work out of it ... all that was required was a reply to my email, which I still have not received.
Point # 5 - infinity

I've recently had a situation with a long time "friend". (No one here.)
I've done alot of things for him from hauling cars to sending thousands of dollars worth of business his way.
It isn't fully onesided he has cut me a break on the price of some stuff and been a sounding board for concepts.
But my outlay in time, knowledge and effort has not been rewarded in my opinion. And to make matters worse a "business" transaction between us has turned into what was supposed to be a week turnaround to a 6 week ordeal with very little, to no communication. I had to actually physically track him down and meet with him were a simple phone call would have made things better.
I'm hoping he lives up to his word and honors the deal, I can give him time but I can't afford to let him walk away from the deal.
What are you supposed to do, when concepts of honor have varying levels of importance among people?
I suppose I'm the one to blame to put my expectation on someone else, but dammit life is more than living a life of isolation. And I try real hard to not do harm to others.
I guess I'm going to have to watch my own back a little more and care a little less.

Speaking for myself, I don't think it's endemic to males. In general, as I get older, I've learned that most people are selfish and unreliable, responding only when it's convenient. Finding someone who is truly altruistic, and honors their word regardless of how inconvenient it may be seems to be an increasingly rare trait.
It's noteworthy in the two cases I posted earlier in this thread, that one is a male and the other a female. I also don't think this problem is location-specific. If it's any consolation, we have our fair share of selfish, inconsiderate lunks in the motor city And I'm NOT referring to anyone specifically. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I don't think we have more than 5 true friends. I am lucky that my wife is my best friend [41years], 924Guy, Peter NY and some personal friends are all I can think of that I can rely on. The two guys above are really nice guys and I trust them with anything.
I have had dealings with guys on this list many times and got burned only once.
I too am gullible and think everyone is like me. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

The sad fact of doing business is, that there are some people out there who make it a practice of ripping people off. They're usually quite easy to figure out, although it is usually quite expensive when you do.
Sometimes things happen that are neither the fault of the buyer or the seller, for instance I recently had to pay out the ass to have something returned from customs, who for some reason would not let it cross the border. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

UPDATE
Today, miracle of miracles, I received the item (FINALLY) that I ordered from Blondde. She is officially off of my black list now.
Also, I received a PM from the other party, so hopefully, that situation will be very shortly rectified as well.
Final word from me on this matter: I never accused either of these sellers of ripping me off. I was, however, greatly perturbed at the difficulty in getting any type of response, which is why I decided to join in this thread. Seems like it's working. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I also got an email from him.Seems things will work out like they should.Makes me sad to think how money royally screws up friendships faster than politics or religion. _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

for me it wasn't the money that screwed things up as much as the total lack of communication. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yes, we live in an age of communications and it is easy for one to think communications are easy. Like cell phone for instance. I hate mine, alot of time I answer it here at home and it cuts me off as soon as I answer, Or I forget it in the car or shop or house when I am in a different locations, for some reason, I can't get me voice mails from it, I have tried doing all I could on that part but the phone just doesn't allow it to happen . Also I never aqnswer calls that are anomynous or no number, too many times I have answered these calls to find a solicitor on the other end. ANd that just pisses me off. Emails on the other hand are whole nother story, Most often I get so many emails that I can not possibly answer them all unless I sat down for 24 hours straight average daily emails is between 100-300, SO I cut back on my selling thinking to help aleaviate the problem and allow me to spend more time answering emails but so far that hasn't helped. I do not recieve any junk mail or spam in my box, so these are allquestions and communications with people. I answer as many as I can and when I come back more is there and before I know it, triing to keep up with them I fall behind, emails get buried and so forth. The answer to this may seem simple to get someone to help in answering emails, but how do I find someone with a 924/944 data base that I have in my head, to what fits what, where to find how uch shipping, and etc. Which is the most often questions from people all over the world. I have always try to provide the members of this board with alittle better customer service than normal, knowing that the people here care more about these cars than the average guy, and most often many of the people here have indeed helped me with my car troubles questions and so forth. But as it appears I have dropped the ball with some of you. And will do what i can to repair that.
You know I am pretty much a single dad of three, When I was married, my wife did little to help out with the kids and frankly my girlfriend is quite overwhelmed with my kids not ever having any herself and now being thrust in the middle of three kids. My kids are with me 4 days a week and even though i have moved my business at home, I have little time to work when they are here. I am very close to my kids and they are everything to me. And I love my time with them and now they are all in split homes, I find they need me more than ever. I try and sit down and do things when they are here, but the whole time they are crawling all over me, wanting my attention, needing this needing that. And usually by the end of the day, I am so worn out when they are here, that I am frankly to tired to do anything. I am sure any parent who has had to raise there kids alone can understand this. I am making strides to improve the customer service of my business and am working very hard in making sure all things go as they should, but sometimes some things or people fall through the cracks, and when it does happen and it is brought to my attention I find myself having little trouble in fixing the situation, but sometimes I don't find out there is a problem until it is too late.
When I made the move last October to the new place, I found myself in an overwhelming situation, I had to leave for a while to go and help my grandmother. Who is 89, When I returned home, the guys who were working for me had literally detroyed everything I had worked so hard to build. I found that many items that should of been shipped and was told that had been shipped ahad indeed not been. Not only that but they left me in one serious mess and with my absents, And people not knowing what was going on. Alot of things just hit the fan. I worked very hard during that very triing to time to fix everything I could. But many things happened in my absents, And alot of the damage was i not able to be repaired, I lost 1000's of dollars during this time and still haven't recoped alot of it. Then when things started to look good again, and I was finally getting things on track. Another finicail disaster happened, and I almost lost everything. Which was just before Christmas. SO here I am again starting almost over again, from the hole, which isn't a way I wanted to start the new year. Currently I have 60 plus items over the last month that haven't been paid for, this total amount is the difference of paying my rent or not. And alot of these people are Board members, but you won't see me putting up post about these people. And having a public forum about them. I honestly feel this post was way out of line and could of been dealt with on a more personal level weather you felt like you could of gotten a hold of me or not. But a person must do what they feel they need to do. Now if I was the bad person some people want to make me out to be, I would of ignored this post, and just dropped from the board, I didn't respond right away because I was curious to where it was going to go. And wanted to see what would come out of the wood work. Which in a way I am glad for. Because some of you who could of contacted me via the board in a PM because you knew I was here chose not too. But now the situation is up and and out in the open lets get some things resolved. Send me your phone number or whatever info you have for contact, and let me make an effort to fix things. Like I mentioned before it may have just been an issue of shipment, parts, or programing errors, payments not being recognized or picked up. You will see if given the chance, you will walk away happy, or at the least content that the situation was resolved. This needs to be a safe community and I want to be a part of that. And now that i have one of the Sweetest 924's in thew world. I am hoping to take what i have found and share with the rest of the community, but that doesn't mean squat if People don't feel they can trust of rely on me. ANywasy that is all I got to say for now, I hope I have helped explain things alittle bit. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

I don't get it, Micheal- are you actually SHIPPING some items before they are paid for?
And hey, NOBODY here in this whole post EVER utterred your name or handle. (or address, which one or two of us could've, hehe). This post was ABSOLUTELY neccessary- due to a pretty major problem. Are you saying there is no problem to be discussed?
It's pretty obvious that ALL of us whom which you are in debt to are making EXTREME efforts to not hurt your name- do you disagree? Consider my specific case- My Paypal reciept to you is dated JULY 8th.
-and please don't mention people outside this forum who are slandering you on ebay, or family members, or co-workers/ex-co-workers who have found a way to screw you over in whatever fashion over the past few months. Your obvious mistake in life is surrounding yourself with some shiesty individuals. Now you are reaping the rewards of that affliction.
We just want our parts, or our money- and then the liberty to part ways, peacefully.

....Mikri184......Just an observation.....if you have had time to read on this board...post on other topics and write that long winded sob-story...you could have used it more wisely towards compentantly running your business. I haven't personally done business with you...we'll leave it like that. _________________ 1976 924

I can't say anything about shipping stuff late, just ask a euro 931 owner about his injectors.
I've got a part I needed to ship two weeks ago, I'll get done this weekend. Cross my fingers
I need to pay for two items of ebay.
I've got to dig around and see if I can find a good starter, that may be rough as most of my stuff was disorganized before the move and now... Bush has a better chance of find WMD in iraq than me finding the one or two good starters out of the dozen bad cores.
I have excuses, but the truth for me is I'm getting old and tired and watching TV and vegetating has more of a priority right now.
I think things are still on good terms with everyone here new and old except for Jay Scheffler at DST who ripped me for 150 bucks and Vaughn Scott for not getting my templates for the intercooler mount brackets (from you know who). And I've been begging for them.
Hey on a positive note my baby girl got her surgery last week and was fitted with a cochlear implant, she will be one year and a few days when they activate her the first week of Feb. _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net
