Out of cuoriousity, I am interested in how many people would be interested in stock 924 fenders made of fiblerglass.
My girlfriend is a fiberglass builder, and is starting to make some fiberglass stuff, for the 924/944, Now i want a set of stock fiberglass fenders for my car, and since the molds will be built, and what cost the most and takes the most time. I am wondering will anyone else be interested in a set of these. I may try and have here make these an inch wider (to fit the 7 inch wide wheel up front). But, I am not sure on that, she has almost finished the molds on our first pieces of fiberglass we will offer and when those are done I'll post pictures.
So the question is, is anyone interested in the fiberglass fenders and how much should I charge for them??????????
After she finishes here current molds and builds two other molds, she'll be starting the fenders.

I would be interested in fibreglass fenders, since I've managed to mess up my passenger front fender in Chilliwack about 6 months ago. Of course, I would want one for each side to keep the balance proper I don't know how much I would pay for each fender, but if it's less than $150US I would almost definitely pony up for them!

Will these be stock 924 or will they have 944 or GTC style flares?

Well the first set of fenders will be stock 924 fiberglass fenders, and I was thinking of $400 for the set, they will look just like stock as the mold is being made from the stock fender. so the lights and bolts holes will be an identical match. I have the fiberglass mat to do this, but not the resin yet or the acetone. I need about another $200 in supplies to get the bigger stuff started, things that are in works right now.
Fiberglass dash (contracted out to another builder, taking his sweet a$$ time)
Fiberglass head light covers
Fiberglass nose panel
fiberglass Stock lower valance for the 924
The headlight covers almost have thier mold finished, we have had some issue with the cold. which has made this kind of slow, but have started building another room in the shop so that the area can get kept at a good temp.
Other things I have set aside to build molds is a front spoiler and rear spoiler for the 924 and a set of side rocker panels
Here is a picture of the head light cover molds being done at the moment, these will eventually evolve into a different headlight set up for the 924, but for now stock is the begining.

These are the headlight covers before being covered in glass, Took alot beleive it or not to take these perfect headlight covers and get them smooth and straight for glass, anyone would of been happy to stick these on thier car. the paint was good and there was no dents , but once the sanding was started we quickly realized the factory had not done such a good job after all. Right now they are covered in glass and hopes to have the mold finished tomorrow.

As for doing the Carrera kit, I am not sure, the big issue is making the rear flares. In order to make a mold We need to have something to go from, if someone wanted to donate a set I am sure I could do the mold even if they need repair. I do have the fiberglass quarter panels from my 944 clone that once they are repaired, I think we are going to make a mold off of them. I have also successfully skined an 83 944. and probally can make the mold from that. but my focus has been on parts for my car, I want to lighten it up quite a bit to get my power to weight ratio to make the 924 competive. Since rela power isn't available, as time goes on and since the molds will already be made, I will make all my parts in Carbon fiber. Once parts are made I will do a weight comparison with the stock parts to show the weight difference. The parts will not be cheap and will last. Unlike some of the parts I have recived from some of the other companies, where any slight hit will break the thing apart.

Lower cost alternatives to GT Racing would be welcome, although if I go to the trouble of replacing metal, I would be more inclined to go with flared rather than stock fenders. A pair of fenders from GT Racing is $500, so $400 for a pair isn't bad...but $300/pair for stock fenders would be a no-brainer.

I would be *really* interested in a set of headlight buckets to replace the standard retractable lights. However, I don't want the rectangular headlamp set like GT Racing sells, I want two small round HID bulbs like the kits you can get for a Miata. I would buy that right now if such a thing existed. Problem is, you'll probably have to create the light bevels from scratch.

I also like the idea of a front air dam / spoiler and some nice rocker panels. Keep me in the loop.

931-style vented nose panels. The extra air-flow would be great and they look good on 944s too.

I'd buy one.

Well Mike I'd say we are living parallel lives. You seem to have a much more cooperative and helpful partner than I but our projects seem to be very much in line. If it were not for the couple thousands of miles that seperate us I'd say lets join forces and bring these guys a whole new avenue for modifying these cars. But seeing as I am here and you are there, I guess we will both have to do our thing.

I have molds for vented nose panels, 933 wide body kits, GT Hood Scoops, Boxed Rockers (both 944 and 924 styles), 924 Front Spoilers (nice little replacement for the stock valance), Rear Euro Valances, and GTS Spoilers ready to go if anyone wants them.

I am working on stock front fenders (924 and 944), Carrera GT Kit, Custom Dashes (various styles), 931 vented hoods (single and double vents), stock hoods, Stock 924/931 front valances, Front and Rear Euro Bumpers, and much much more. These will be ready early 2005 and all will eventually be offered in carbon fiber as well.

Will also be developing the headlights to end all headlights, custom sub enclosures for the rear seat, and so on and so on...I could go on forever.

As of Monday I am back to the world of the working and will be making significant headway on all said projects. Wife has a month off school, and we have come up with a schedule that allows me to actually work 40 hours a week even after she goes back. Now I can do all the things that I have so eagerly planned for the last 6 months or so.

Good luck to you Mike and I look forward to seeing the progress on the latest project car. Maybe someday we can hook up and put our carb'd up screamers through their paces together.

one thing I would love to see happen Mike is factory 924 fenders w/o the light holes, and also brought down on the front bottom to have a 924 DP shovel style chin spoiler bolt up between the fenders like the factory spoiler bolted to the factory fenders,
although I am not a huge fan of fiberglass stock front valance/chin spoiler due to the fact that there are things on the road which will cause it to break, maybe have a sheet of tin/steel over top of the fiberglass might be an option though.

What I want to see is tons of images of products. GT Racing has the PDF's with some product images, but I really want to see more, larger, color images of the types of products you would be selling (both of you guys). I'm extremely interested in three main things. Replacement GT style headlights (but with a better light system), front spoiler, and a nice rear spoiler for my 1978 924. The stock body style just doesn't thrill me, but a lot of the products from GT Racing, and what you guys would make are what I realy want.

Brentil, I'm working on a website to showcase my work but I am one man doing it all myself so just getting things built is a challenge. I think the hardest thing about taking photos is doing it in a way that does justice to parts. That is why GT Racing does it the way they do.

I am personally 6 months away from having things to the point where I have finished cars of my own to show off the body kits, high quality photos of everything I am working on and all that. I can take pics of individual parts, but that only goes so far in showing the quality and fit of the parts.

Give me an email addy and I can send pics of whatever you are interested in but they won't do my work justice.

Headlight arrangements for me is a done deal. I would take two or three depending on cost with different lighting.

Good luck on all your work.

I've got the headlight cover molds made already, if you want to save the work. The bumper molds will be finished this week. Valance is being worked on. Nose panel has been started. Just haven't gotten to the fenders yet. And I need to find a donor hood. Plus working on a few other goodies.

I will do 'glass, but the plan is to primarily just do carbon/kevlar.
