Hi all,
Took my 924 back into traffic the other week after 11 months in storage.
Does anyone know if the chequered black/grey original seat fabric is available to buy somewhere? I would like to renew the upholstery on the drivers seat, which has cracked in a few places.

We all wish you luck. Finding <any> original fabric is a hit-and-miss proposition. There is a place out of New Zealand that carries a good number of selections, but not all, by any means. I don't know the URL off hand. You may have better luck being in Europe than here in the States locating some. I'd start by going to some body shops, or furniture upholstry stores to see if they might have a line on where you might try. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

I see. I will try to get in touch with some of the classic Porsche part suppliers in Germany and see what they can offer. Since this fabric (I believe) is common with some 911's I suppose they might carry it. Let's just hope the price is right.
Will do a follow-up posting if I have any luck.

le.mans@xtra.co.nz had the material for my 1980 turbo. I have the tarten pattern (red/black with blue/purple). In April the material was 185.00NZ per metre plus freight. _________________ 1980 924 turbo |

How many meters is required to redo the front seats? I emailed http://www.lemansoriginalfabrics.com/ they said the have the black and white checkered fabric for $125 a meter plus shipping I'm assuming the price is in NZ dollars but they didn't specify. _________________ 80 924

I was told by a customer of mine, that in Europe most interior fabric is still available, but not here in the US. I also know that a few manuafacturers used a similar material in there cars, so you might want to check around, I had a Nissan 200SX turbo, that had a similar checked pattern. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

| I have a faint recollection of the somewhere range of 87 Dodge Daytonas or 2.2 Shelby Chargers having a checkered seat pattern. I think.... |
