the pop out sunroof looks like it doesn't fit properly after i removed and put back the weather stripping that goes on the roof of the car.

right now the parts ont he interior side of the roof where the sunroof latches attach to are removed. when i put the sunroof on the fron part, closest to the fron winshield goes over the weather stripping and lies flush with the roof but the rear end of the sunroof that is closes to the back window doesn't go ove the weater stripping but rather sits on top of the middle part of the weather stripping and so doesn't lie flush with the cars roof. is this how its suppose to be. i don't think it was like this before.

but the parts on the interior part of the roof wher the sunroof
parts attache to are not insalled so i'm not sure if that has to do with it

The roof should be flush , perhaps the sunrooof seal didnt seat properly? or if its old, might be torn and is messing up the fit. Last time i replaced my seal, i had a hard time getting it to fit right as well, they need to be worked a bit to get them just right sometimes.
id think so long as all your latches are okay, it should seat okay even without the interior headliner piece...if anything id guess it would sit a bit a low in the roof, not high..

can someone post a pic of their sunroof on top of the roof.

i'll post a pic of how mine doesn't fit later on.

is the sunroof suppose to go over the seal all around or what.

yeah my seal broke in half in on spot and i glued it back together so it ight be due to that

once the seal has been torn/broken it needs to be replaced or it WILL leak!

shit, those seals looks pretty expensive on the net, like 100 bucks for a plastic seal...

but why won't my sunroof fit, i'll take a pic tom to show what i mean.

i have also removed all of the roof parts that the sunroof attaches to and lock into and i'm not sure which goes where.

Yeah I had the same problem when I replaced my sunroof seals too. I found that with the new seal installed, the sunroof would actually sit slightly higher than flush. You need to install the inside latches and when locked, it pulls the sunroof down to almost flush. Because of the slightly thicker new rubber gasket, mine has never actually returned to PERFECTLY flush as before. But after a couple of months it sits pretty close to flush. No amount of pushing from outside will get the sunroof to stay down you need the latches to PULL DOWN from the inside.

If you need to increase the downward pullage of the latches, you can slip a short piece of rubber hose over the part of the latch that makes contact with the underside of the roof. I used something like 1/2" hose or a bit smaller.
