Ive been tossing around doing a conversion for a long, long time..my 931 is at the point where it needs some body work (nasty dent in the quarter from being backed into by and suv two years ago, and my right front fender is beginning rust at the lower trim line, bat box rusted out, paint faded, etc.)

its been a toss up between keeping her original, and going the carrera route, or someplace in between,,, ive decided on someplace in between.
so the current plan is to update the body with the kit. i havent decided on using a hood scoop yet, i may cut up my second naca hood and graft the duct to the original hood on the oposite side, and add more ducting from that to channel air to the top mount intercooler im working on..not sure if its doable yet..
the repaint will be in the original black metallic, and ive had the original graphics package (Factory SE graphics) reproduced, to keep the car in the original theme..it will effectively become a carrera SE ...
allot of work ahead, and i am hopefull Indi9x will get my new turbo to me shortly (its been lost in transit for 8 months afaik, and im still waiitng for an update from him.)
and ive recently gotten almost all of my spares from storage and im sorting through those..theres a good chance i will have a ton of n/a parts for sale soon, and possibly my factory euro bumper and some other goodies, to help finace this project... (ive got about enough spare n/a parts to build my own n/a, only minus a shell and a lower block)

anyhow, the kit was manufactured by A.I.R , i got a good deal, i just hope it survives the shipping...

Is this not the same board member working on putting together a deal to send some N/A heads, of his design to the United States through Mark (My924GTC)?

I am not involved in the deal, and it’s none of my business, but could you explain that statement? Indi9xx should not have to defend himself if the fault rests solely with the shipping company. On the other hand there are a few board members about to entrust him with a fair amount of cash not to mention parts.

Uh, yeah I am a bit interested in this too for obvious reasons. Could you clarify the situation for me. In private if you wish.

no problem, i should have been more specific.. i bought a turbo from him (same person doing the custom heads here) way back in february , not cheap, but seemed well worth it given his experience with them. Paid in full at the time.. i expected the shipping to take a month or so.. i still dont have it..
there was some sort of customs issue, which he told me he would rectify, a few months later. another few months went by, and i still hadnt recieved it, he told me hed look into it..or send me out another unit to address the problem.. ive pm'd him recently and have had not heard back, so i dont know what the current status is.
However, im hoping this is just a lapse, or a miscommunication, and hell get it to me in short order...between then and now there have been several international shipping code changes, i have moved inthe meantime, but the office at my prior adress has agreed to accept the package for me, they dont have it, and they are trustworthy. there have been several hurricanes to slow things up.... i dont know if that is the reason for the severe delay or not, but i could of rowed over, picked it up and rowed back by now.. all i know is he has been paid in full and ive yet to recieve the unit i paid for, my wallet is screaming in pain, and my 931 is not happy yet to offset it..hopefully soon though...

Thanks Eric.

Not to accuse anyone of misrepresentation but, I have had several things imported from the UK. So have several others here I'm sure. I have never had anything take more than 6 weeks to arrive. I have had things come in from Germany, Malta, and many other European countries, no problem.

Have you inquired as to which company was used to ship? Have you been in contact with UK customs, or US custom for that matter? Who's customs has it held up? I suggest that you take the initiative or you will never see your turbo.

IMO, regardless of a shipping issue, you should not be the one put out here. I am sure that you paid good money for this turbo, and any respectable "business" man would have replaced it, or would have located it and done what was necessary to move things forward in less than 8 months. That is roughly 210 business days to have done something to make sure you were not being screwed. That is either a complete scam, or shear incompitence.

In light of this post, which is the first real feedback I am seeing from anyone who has dealt with Jon, I am going to reconsider how and if I proceed with any transaction involving him. His lack of communication is leaving a bad taste in my mouth anyway, and I do not want to be responsible for coordinating a transaction that leaves half a dozen guys wondering where their heads are.

Mark: Good plan.

Isn't there one of our UK buddies that can pop over to his place and check out the operation? Maybe help track down the turbo. Or at least offer an opinion from that side of the pond re: shipping.

Indi9x get him the turbo. You got his money and you are holding the part. Any good guy would have shipped him the part months ago. You stand to lose business from this. Any good business person would realize this. I think you are a blow hard. You are giving us all this bull about how good you are and to tell you the truth I have all the mods you mentioned and I am not still fast. It is a slow turning motor.
Right the situation and send the parts. I know 924guy and he is as honest as they come. He paid you so send the parts.
Try mail fraud 924guy. It was conducted by mail. There is not time limit on fraud. I got a 1500 dollar refund from a guy that screwed me 6 years ago. When I told him I was going to sue he paid up.
Be a MENSCHE or in English a man and send the part.

Vince, I sincerely doubt Jon reads anything else on this board. I think he spends a total of 3 minutes here, long enough to breeze through the posts on his thread and the rest of the time he's busy thinking up what to shovel next.

I have been waiting for nearly a week just to get some pricing from him. To call him a business man would be giving him too much credit.

He's all the way over in England, he knows that more than likely he's in the clear. I had someone on this board screw me out of money and I let it go...hell, he was only in Illinois! Speaking of screwed, Hey Sparky, am I still out of luck on that door sill sticker? Am I still pounding sand because your little stinking ass is in Malta? Now, where was I? Oh yeah, chalk it up as a lesson learned. There are a few on this board who are shifty.

strange, i had great service from sparky..he even corrected a mistake without hesitation..shipping fropm there does take quite awhile though...

ive pm'd and emailed indi9xx again, well see if he responds now.. as i said above, im hoping this was a lapse or something, and hell get it straight..butif he doesnt, ill take matters to the next level..i was a fraud/internal investigator for awhile, ive a pretty good grasp on the processes, even cross border stuff..i just hope i can avoid all that though, i just want my turbocharger....

They have always treated me very well. Even replaced a complete graphics kit at no cost becuase it was done in the wrong color by mistake. Never argued, just replaced it in the color that I requested to begin with. If I recall, shipping from Malta was about 4 weeks each time.

I shipped some weber carbs and all accesories that weighed in at 52 lbs to Spain. Took about 6 weeks, and the new owner (who is a polizea) started to worry at about the 5 week mark. Not to mention so did I.

8 months later? I`d be a freaking wreck! Lost in the mail or not, provide some proof! I`d be asking for scanned reciepts from the post office at the very least. Thats what I have done in the past to avoid any qualm.

I now have a friend in Spain, if anyone needs anything from that area.
