I know it's not the elbow, oil flows prettywell in the tube, thy was my first guess.

I think it's from low oil pressure from runnin the oil level too low or foreign debris

anyone got a free cam ...

yeah she has let it get low on oil a few times... to the point the light was coming on.

took the valve cover off today and adjusted all the valves to about 4 thousandths, and noticed i have a smashed/flattened looking lobe on the exh side of #1

what could have caused that? all other l ...

1980 2.0L n/a

the engine had a recent tuneup and headgasket change..... about 1200miles old are:

distributor cap/rotor
spark plugs (ngk silver)
belts
fresh oil change + seafoam (half big can) ...

i know it gets heat from the engine as it warms out the metal in the manifold... but should unplugging it change something? i thought those heaters were pretty on/off (electric)

Mine does the opposite it's 500-600rpm when cold and then 1100 when warm, I had to back the idle screw out a bit to get it to stay running when cold I'll take it off and have a look inside

unplugged the idle air whith engine cool, nothing changed, plugged it back in, nothing changed. engine runs exactly the same plugged or unplugged

is it bad?

started the car up, cold, and unplugged the warm up regulator, engine ran exactly the same...

is it bad?

damn, the exhaust broke off at the flange right before the cat today

bad news is i gotta fix it, good news is the cat is still good since i have to smog this month

everything was going good until i hit the grape vine... then i forgot how much of a lump of gutless crap that n/a engine is... was floored in 4th the whole time mostly just to keep it above 65 ...

true just something fun for now... more curious than anything.

its my girls car so, i dont want to go around messing up the spring rates and lowering it, she'd eat an oil pan. she is a very careful ...
