Thanks, both good points.

By putting a soft spacer (pieces of paper) between the halves and tightening the 19mm nut I got the metering cylinder out.

I think it must have been rebuilt recently in ...

Ill come out this project with not only a fresh turbo, but a rebuilt wastegate with a 1 bar spring, adjustable koni shocks/struts all around, stage 2 cam, upgraded brake lines , top mount intercooler, ...

The grooves are probably about 0.010" deep. I would consider that to be significant...I know from o-ring catalogs that the mating surface of a face seal should have a peak to peak roughness of 0.00064 ...

Oil manifold is referring to the adapter for the filter and cooler lines.

Normally I would agree that a "roughened" sealing surface might be intentional...but I have a hard time believing that Pors ...

During my 81 931 exhaust system rebuild I took off the oil manifold and found that the sealing surface on the block is very rough. It appears to be factory machining marks. Has anyone else seen this? ...

1981 924 Turbo...sitting for ~7 years...lots of exhaust problems...

Discovered that one of the exhaust manifold studs is broken in the head.
I can't imagine trying to deal with this problem withou ...
