Oh Yeah, there's soundproofing under there from the factory. It's heavy as hell! I've removed, and thrown as far as I could, the soundproofing mat under the carpet as well as the tar coating which i ...

Uhh....I don't know about that CBass. I have an '82 931 and used to have a '78 924. The steering in the NA definitely felt quicker. According the "Little Spec Book", both the NA and 931 had a 19.15 ...

Oh yeah! WDB nailed that on the head. I was reading this thread & thinking, "How the hell WOULD brake fluid get into the intake?" Funny thing is I just removed my brake booster last weekend to repa ...

Cheers John H, I always enjoy your practical information and experience. Your GT replica has an intercooler doesn't it? That's got to be worth at least .3 bar over a non-intercooled 931. I'm sure ...

Joe, how did that strengthen the floor? I'm not worried about the seat brackets or sliders, I'm concerned about the stifness of the floor itself. With your angle iron, can't you still press down on ...

Has anybody come up with a good way to reinforce the floor at the rear mounts for the front seats?

I can't believe how weak that area is from the factory. Both of my front seats sank into the floo ...

Whoa, go easy gentlemen. Even running 1 bar is dangerous depending on the conditions.

First of all, what is the compression ratio? There were several and it will make a huge difference. The euro ...

Linear, yes. But, there is not enough power to reach redline in 5th gear either due to wind drag or just not breathing enough air. My '82 931 will reach 135 after a while; it reaches 120 pretty quic ...

AppleBit. Welcome to the turbo world. Don't you know by now that you always must specify what year 931 it is when asking for advice. As I'm sure you know, the '80 is completely different than the ' ...

Yeah, you could just crank up the boost. But, all turbos are meant to work within a certain range of CFM and pressure levels. Smaller turbos are capable of more pressure but start getting less and l ...

So bho,

With your larger '80 turbine housing spooling up later, does it seem to make a difference at the top end? Does the power band seem to be any higher in the rpm range? It seems that the exh ...

I just replaced my brake hoses last week on my '82 931 with Goodridge stainless braided hoses from Weltmeister. At the same time, I replaced all my fluid with Ate Super Blue, rebuilt my front caliper ...
