Unfortunately it wasn't. Though after noticing at a little brown at the base of the crack I decided to investigate further -and it came apart in a 1/2 dozen or more pieces. :/ Oh-well, ...

I just found there to be a small crack in the bottom of the plastic in the switch. Is it possible this is the cause?
