The only drop links or sway bar links you'll have are connected to the rear sway bar.

1985 and drop links doesn't compute in my book.

If your chassis has the old style sway bar that uses the drop links,
I wouldn't recommend switching to the 944 style (1982+)

Yep, it is held together by three spot welds.
It is roughly;
w = 12mm,
l =65mm,
h = 20mm.
