Now that you're prying into the details... how do you go about changing the ramp angles, looks to me like you'd need to remachine that housing or replace it with one with the desired angles?

Oh yeah, very not factory with that black/red wire... I was envisioning something striped, not a dual wire like that.
Agreed that the others look like old speaker wiring, quite suitable for ditchin ... |

| No no - crossed signals, Cedric was referring to a '78 auto (so, NA) getting a 5-lug swap as overkill - except it was also getting a 5-speed swap. So, from 3 gears to 5!! LOL |

Figured it out yesterday, after getting back in there and pulling it all apart again.
The new clutch disc from Sachs is TOO THICK.
Spec for new is 8.1mm +/- 0.3mm - new disc is at least 8.4mm.

| The shimmed followers are great for racing - the stock followers are a liability at high revs thanks to the holes in the sides for the adjusters. But for street use, the stock ones are so much easier ... |
